A terrible need gnaws at the soul of the King Under the Mountain. Dragon-sickness it is called by some: an insatiable void that compels Thorin to abandon compassion, honour, reason, and even the bonds of friendship and blood, for all he can think of is the gold. No appeal to his word by Bard can move him to shelter the needy people of Lake-town, no admonishment by his own kin can stir him from his jealous contemplation, nor the slaying of his cousins from the Iron Hills upon his very threshold compel the master of Erebor to join the fight outside. Only Thorin himself can wrestle through this madness and find within him the man he once was, and the king he was supposed to be.
Brought to you in a Limited Edition of just 750, King Thorin on Throne joins our high-quality 1:6 scale line from The Hobbit.
Our authentic prop replicas and collectibles are designed by the very same artists who have worked on the three films, so effectively they come straight from Middle-earth.
Please note: This statue was designed and prototyped here at the Workshop. Images show a pre-production prototype. Each piece is painted by hand and slight variations will occur.

CREATING KING THORIN ON THRONE
Devised at the Workshop in collaboration with the 3Foot6 make-up and costume department, Thorin’s look was designed to reflect his troubled state of mind. Weta Workshop concept designer Nick Keller worked with the writers to evolve the elaborate and beautiful armour. For Thorin’s equally elaborate collectible version, the figure was digitally sculpted by artist Lindsey Crummett; his throne, impossibly large on screen, carefully resized and built from wood and plastic by model-maker David Tremont. The finished piece is a perfect example of digital and physical techniques working together in harmony.
